Even as the country struggles to unravel police brutality and reform the Nigeria Police, police officers appear unbothered by the anger against them which, snowballed into the #ENDARS Protest, some police personnel are till deep in the act.

Ogoni youth from Khana Local Government Area of River s State  are boiling with anger  over the killing of one of their own,  Gospel  Gbaraka,  28 years old,  native of Gwara in Khana Local Government Area, on Sunday, November 22, while on duty by a trigger happy police officer  at his security post.

Gospel was until his death, a security officer with Bulk Strategic Reserve Limited, based at Abonnema Wharf area of Port Harcourt.

A release by Ambassador Vincent Gbosi, presi dent, Khana Youth Federation, KYF announcing and decrying the killing stated:

“Sunday November, 22, 2020, will go down as one of the saddest days in our lives with the distressing news of the extra-judicious killing of one of our youth, Mr Gospel Gbaraka at the hand of a trigger happy personnel of the Nigerian Police Force-one Inspector James, serving  at the Marine Base Police Station in Port Harcourt, Rivers  State, no in the custody  of the state’ s Criminal Investigating Department, CID.

“Late Gospel Gbaraka was shot and killed on duty in cold blood with an AK 47 riffle at his security pot yesterday morning by the aid Inspector James, who is also a police security personnel attached to the company in circumstances yet to be unraveled.”

The Ogoni youth leader described Gospel’s death as one death too many” and called on the police commissioner to urgently intervene.

“This I one killing too many and we demand  an immediate and thorough investigation by the Rivers State  commissioner of Police for the prosecution of thi dare-devil police officer to serve as a deterrent.

“Enough I Enough!”

A delegation of the aggrieved Ogoni youth visited the CP on Monday to press home their demand for justice and held a press conference with journalists.

The deceased a single and hi parents are alive.
