The Odionwere.of lguogbe village, in Ovia North East Local Government of Edo State, Ambassador Joseph Aghedo, has eulogized HRM Oba Ewuare 11, the Oba of Benin for uplifting the rich Benin cultural heritage and promoting norms and traditions since his assumption on the throne.

Hon. Aghedo made the commendation at the 2019 Edo State Schools Cultural Competition, Season 15, put together by the  Edo Legacy Foundation International, in conjunction with Bravin Magazine. Theme was, “Giving Back To The Society.”

The traditional ruler said the culture and tradition of Edo people is their pride and called on others to join the crusade.

“Our culture and tradition is our pride; I call all and sundry to join the Oba in promoting and preserving the rich cultural heritage in Benin Kingdom to greater heights.”

He used the forum to thank the Oba for the historical glamour of the Ugie Odudua and Ugie lvie festivals that later made the whole world know that the Binis are endowed with a lot of diverse festivals.

Ambassador Aghedo appealed to government at all levels to key in to the project to ensure the promotion and preservation of the rich culture and tradition. He said such interventions should commence from the elementary school, adding that parents  should educate and teach their children their culture and traditions to avoid the foreign languages that have caused problem in our cultures.

The Odionwere also thanked the organizer of the event, Pedro Aghahowa for his concept to reawaken Bini culture and traditions as  he admonished him to continue in the struggle.

In his remarks, Ambassador Pedro Aghahowa, expressed gratitude to everybody that graced the occasion.

In a related issue, leader of lnneh Theatre International Troupe, Sunny Obasuyi, extolled Oba Ewuare 11 for the overall well being of people through interventionist people-oriented projects, cultural and socio-economic programmes, and empowerment since he came to the throne.

Obasuyi said the charitable kind gesture of the monarch has encouraged them to re-dedicate themselves to his avowed commitment to the preservation, sustainability and propagation of the rich cultural heritage and tradition of the kingdom.”The Oba’s practical acts of financial and moral support have continued to engender unprecedented fame and praise for lnneh Theatre International Troupe.”

He called on all Edo people to support the palace for the continuous progress of the cultural values and norms of the great Benin Kingdom.
